Mentorship
I will always be eager to mentor students who are interested in how cultural and historical factors influence the human mind.
PhD Applicants. The University of Chicago PhD program (including a PhD guidebook) is described here: https://www.chicagobooth.edu/phd/dissertation-areas/behavioral-science. The program follows an “entrepreneurial” model in which students work with multiple faculty advisors (in contrast to the lab-based model in psychology programs), and can even pursue joint degrees in psychology and business.
In July 2026, I will be moving to Harvard University, where I will take a position in the psychology department. As such, I will not be able to serve as a primary mentor for students applying for the University of Chicago in the 2026 application cycle.
Other Resources. I recently gave a workshop on productivity strategies and secondary data sources for graduate school research. That workshop is hosted here.
